Yea, I read about that on another website. Personally, I'm relieved. I think a lame sequel leaves a sour memory of the whole story and retroactively ruins the initial hit. (Matrix comes to mind.)
Although, if it's a direct-to-dvd type of thing, there's no reason why little kiddies can't enoy it. Would a parent rather watch the same Toy Story overandoverandoverandover again, or watch a lame sequel?! I spose they'll all get rewatched to death... :P

No matter how much my children might have wanted to watch more adventures with Woody and Buzz, I know I would have hated seeing that movie get made the wrong way. And in the hands of the Suits who ran WD Feature Animation into the ground, I don't see how it could possibly have been made the right way.
I don't know how else to take this news except to have hope that perhaps some of the Suits will be handed their walking papers by Pixar's artists and visionaries. This is the kind of early good news I needed to hear to lay aside my Corporate Mistrust for a bit and see what happens.
I'm optimistic, yes. Cautious. But optimistic.

See.... Just like I said, Pixar aquires Disney, and gets paid 7bn for its trouble. Goodbye the house of mouse, hello the camp of the lamp.
